Volleyball
We finally won! So six of us from church, Brandon, Lyndon, Travis (Justin D. substituted for him since he's gone), Amy, Kayla, and I decided to play in a city league co-ed volleyball team. We knew that we weren't going to be very good but the idea is to get better. The first set was pretty close but we lost. The second game was pretty much torture. They smoked us big time. Then tonight we played probably the worst team and we won! We were all so happy.
So I know I haven't posted in a while, but I've been very busy. Every Monday I have choir rehearsal. Tuesdays I have volleyball. Almost every Thursday I have Drivers' ed class. And either Wednesday or Saturday I have to go driving with Kayla and my driving instructor. So ya, I haven't had very much time to do much of anything.
School's going good. Some of us girls actually convinced the boys to play volleyball at school for a while but that phased out after a while. Oh well, it was fun while it lasted.
We won. And I'm happy.

My summer has been busy but very fun. I drove combine for a couple weeks and then the fun began. The day after we finished combining we went on a rafting trip. I don't have any pictures cause I didn't want to take the chance of ruining my camera in the water. About a week later we went on a three day trip. That was a blast!
Here is all of us except for Larry, Margaret, and Harmony.
Here's our laundry basket of snacks that we took along. We didn't run out, that's for sure.
We rode a tram up a mountain and then at the top we got drinks and fries after looking around at the scenery and "trying" to feed the chipmunks.
Here's me looking out the window in the tram.We stopped at a car show and I don't have pictures of the cars but I do have pictures of this deer that was just walking around. Sometimes it even followed us. We got to pet it and it was so cool.
This is the tower at Half Point that we climbed up. Its really high. (Yes, I know the picture is sideways, but I don't feel like trying to figure out how to turn it the right way.)
Here is the view from Half Point. Later we went on a jet boat ride on that very river and we saw the tower from the river. The jet boat was a blast but I don't have any pictures once again because I didn't want to ruin my camera.
Oh, I can't forget this awesome picture. Me and Harmony wanted to eat some sun chips but the boys wouldn't let us open the bag. Why not? Because it was so cool how the bag of sun chips didn't hardly have any air in it while we were gaining altitude. Finally, when we got down from Half Point, they let us open the bag of sun chips.
I'll leave you with one last picture. This one is especially for Harmony. Her and her man. Isn't that cute.
Well that's about it. I'm done with work and off to have more fun!

Fire!
Friday morning I headed to the field to start combining just like I've been doing for the last while. I was expecting it to be just another ordinary boring day. Well, it was far from boring. I was driving my combine around and around the field, doing what I'm paid to do. Dan, who is my truck driver, was riding with me because he doesn't have much to do in between unloading the combine. It was a good thing, too. We smelled some smoke and so Dan said to stop at the corner and he was going to check it out. Right when we stopped he saw that some of the junk on the feeder house was smoldering. He quickly hopped out of the combine and kicked the smoldering stuff off. While he did that I started driving the combine out of the field. Dan called Larry on the radio and by then we realized that the field was on fire. Dan hurried to go get the seed trucks out of the field and I continued to drive the combine down a narrow gravel lane. I was glad Dan was there to tell me what to do cause I don't know if I would have known what to do otherwise. I had to pull off to the side several times because of all the fire trucks racing towards the fire. It didn't take them long to get the fire put out and soon the fire trucks left. Thankfully it mostly just burned up straw and it didn't get much seed or the combine. After words they were trying to figure out what started the fire. They couldn't figure it out for quite a while. Finally they found a piece of concrete that the combine had picked up in the field. They figure that it caused sparks which caused the fire. It was really weird cause during the whole episode I was pretty calm and everything. Later, when Larry, my boss, brought drinks for us all and we were just standing around talking, thats when I got all shaky. So then they got the combine running again and everyone watched me as I combined one row to make sure that the combine was working properly. Then everyone left except for me and Dan and we were supposed to keep working. I was hopping we would get off early cause I was really tired but we didn't. After supper Dan left to go work in the warehouse and I was left all alone in the field to work. Let's just say that my imagination was playing all sorts of tricks on me and I kept smelling smoke because of the burnt part of the field. But everything went well and no more fires started. I think that was enough excitement to last me for a long time. I'll leave you with a picture of the field. I couldn't get all of the burnt patch into the picture but it shows most of it.

For the last the days I've been taking tractor safety. Unfortunately I had to take the class so I can drive combine this summer. So Thursday through Saturday I spent the better part of my day at LBCC either sitting in a boring class or trying to learn how to drive a tractor, combine, or windrower. The combine and windrower were pretty easy cause all they made us do with those was drive them in a big circle. But the tractors were a little different. It wasn't so hard to drive them forwards or backwards, but the hard part was when they put the trailers on. We had to learn to back up a tractor with a trailer.
So on Saturday we had to watch this video that had really gory pictures of accidents that had happened on the farm. They were really gross. I think about three people had to go out and one girl threw up and a bunch of us didn't watch the whole thing. So after that we practiced driving the tractors and then after lunch we started testing. First we did the written test. I wasn't really too worried about it. The instructor said it would be all either true or false or multiple choice. But it was harder than I thought. But thankfully I passed. I was so happy when I went to the white board and saw that my name was nowhere to be found. Cause if my name would have been on the white board that would have meant that I failed. So then it was time to take the driving test. For the test we had to drive the tractor with a trailer through some cones and then back it up straight. I was pretty nervous but I passed. Enough about tractor safety.
Today I'm leaving to go to Winston to teach Bible School with four other girls. I went last year and I had a blast. I think this year will be awesome too!

The Fabulous Wonderful Oregon Coast!
Xinia and her friend Judy came out here to Oregon for a little while. On Tuesday Jane and Lorenda took us out to the coast. First we went to a place that was kinda like the Oregon Coast Aquarium only smaller. I think it might have been the Marine Science Center.
This was at the center and we could touch all the animals in it. I got to pet a fish and took lots of other cool animals.
This was a tank of tube worms. It was so gross! They're just like tubes and you can see right through them.
After that we went and watched the seal lions. There weren't as many as sometimes but it was still fun to watch them fight and listen to them make their strange noises.
We couldn't go to the coast without stopping at Moes of coarse. The food was great and we left feeling very full.
We toured the light house and walked all the way to the top. All the people there were dressed up and this guy was dressed up like the light keeper.
This is the whole group minus Lorenda. Someone had to take the picture. We also did some things that I don't have pictures of. We went to the outlet malls in Lincoln City and got some great deals. That was a blast. It was so much fun to see Xinia again after not seeing her for so long and it was great getting to know Judy. We had such a fun time out there hanging out together.
